December was profoundly weird - my parents weren't in the US for Christmas for the first time in my life; this is my first Christmas at the Arena; I also took the week between Christmas and New Year's off for the first time since I started working full time in 2015.

It was really good though; some good professional things happened, some really good personal things happened so my polycule expanded in good and satisfying ways (<3), the rest was disorienting but good and I got some good cooking and such in.

I wrote up 7000 words about my year in a big Google doc and sent it out to people, as is my tradition. If you want to see it, let me know.

One of the things I want to do in 2019 is get better about being in touch with people; the format of these may change as I figure out where to put them in such a way that people I care about actually read them. Another thing I want to do is cook more and blog up recipes and notes every month; I'll probably do that over at

kawatan. (I'm uh, still not entirely sure why I have both, but OH WELL.)

My melatonin is kicking in so I will brush my teeth and go to bed now. I hope you're well, and I hope for good things for your 2019.
