Mid-month update, negative and with some parent bullshit and alcohol mentions but eh whatever:

• This board rejected me, too. Sigh forever. I'll put in the work on getting a rental for myself whenever my brain has decided to recover from this shit, which will probably be in the next week or two.
  
• I pissed off my mom because no, I will not let her pay into a larger rental than I can afford on my own so that she can stay over sometimes. Yes, I was okay with my parents helping if it meant I would own the place, and no I am not okay with them helping if I don't own the place, and apparently that's like some horrible betrayal to her feelings or something. Fuckin' boundaries, how do they work???
  
• I'm getting over Yet Another Head Cold, and between that and some other stuff I haven't gotten more than a brief hug since like, New Year's Day, and that's bullshit. Both the PartnerBeast and Andy are going through some rough times lately on top of my own rough time and I've responded by withdrawing; while I know Tyler and Andy are doing a good job taking care of each other the PB has been more adrift and so uh, whoops, I was kind of a shitty girlfriend lately. Working on fixing it though.
  
• I've had the house to myself for about a week and it's always both a little intimidating and kind of awesome when this happens - it's way too much house for me but hey, it's time in solitude with n% less judgement, for n sufficiently large. It also means I've actually cooked a bit, and note to the wise, drained firm tofu in a red wine based stew turns the tofu a really funky shade of purple but also is DELICIOUS. Also Sixpoint Jammer is a pretty weird and tasty beer.
  
• AGDQ was indeed pretty great even if I didn't get to watch it with Andy and Tyler the way I wanted to. TASBot donation runs were short but good; 2 Punch Outs 1 Controller was pretty excellent; in general, the marathon was high quality: good runners, good commentators, good production values. I never read Twitch chat in large streams so I have nothing to say about that, but a week of Olympics-equivalent but for video games was fun.
  
• I finished Murakami's Norwegian Wood and like, I'm still processing; it's about suicide and maturity and love, and it is full of pain but also incredible.
  

I wish I had kinder things to say here; here's to a second half of the month that finds the positive.
